S.T.A.R. GRANT PROGRAM
(Serving The Arts Regionally)
2014 STAR Grant Program application is posted with cautious optimism that there will be funding available. Because of the current fiscal climate, ACAC cannot guarantee that there will be funds for 2014. We will post any change in funding availability on this webpage as soon it may become known.
Adams County Arts Council is proud to offer the 16th Annual STAR Grant Program. We thank the Adams County Commissioners, Borough of Gettysburg, and the Robert C. Hoffman Charitable Endowment Trust for their generous support of this program which would not exist without their understanding of the value of the arts in our community.
The STAR Grant Program was created as a result of a community assessment that determined a need for funding for quality arts programs in schools and the community.
During the past 15 years, the STAR Grant Program has awarded $181,000 and served more than 223,000 people with a wealth of arts programs. The STAR Grant Program helps ACAC to cultivate an arts-rich community.
ACAC administers the STAR Grant Program. Our role is to make applications available to Adams County non-profits, schools, and artists, collate the grant applications, find community members to serve as panelists who read and rank the grants according to the system defined in the application directions, send out the letters and contracts, mail checks to successful applicants, and receive the final project reports.
Please read the application directions carefully and good luck!
Applications are to be postmarked or delivered by November 1, 2013
S.T.A.R. GRANT CRITERIA
The Adams County Arts Council’s S.T.A.R. (Serving the Arts Regionally) Grants Program distributes funds to assist organizations with local arts programming in communities and schools throughout the county.
Eligible to receive funding are local arts events and festivals, musical performances, arts in education programs, presenting organizations, visual arts, dance, folk arts, interdisciplinary arts projects, local arts services, and arts broadcasts.
The grant does not fund capital expenses (i.e. equipment), activities that have a religious purpose, activities for which academic credit is given, projects that are not open to the general public, events not taking place in Adams County in the granting period, cash awards or prizes, benefit or fundraising activities, hospitality expenses (i.e. receptions), lobbying activities, and competitions.
A community panel of judges evaluates applications based on artistic quality of the project, ability to carry out the project, and the community served by the project.
The STAR Grant Program is supported by generous grants from the Adams County Commissioners and Borough of Gettysburg.
Questions about the grant process should be directed to Judy Marti at 334-5006 or firstname.lastname@example.org
