ARTS OUTREACH at the ADAMS COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL

The Adams County Arts Council (ACAC) is committed to connecting the community through arts experiences, while prioritizing the County’s most vulnerable populations, including youth, low-income families, seniors, the Hispanic/migrant population, and those who are in healing. Current and upcoming programs include culinary arts classes, video and live performing arts projects, classes in a variety of arts media, music instruction for people of all ages, summer camps, masterclasses, artist residencies, a new outdoor community arts venue—the Gettys Square Arts Oasis, and a new Healing Arts program, which will be offered at no cost to groups of women, youth, and men who are self-referred or referred by a therapist, guidance counselor, or medical professional.

ACAC’s outreach programs not only provide high-quality educational arts experiences in a safe, positive, accessible, and supportive environment; they also help ACAC connect with families throughout Adams County who may not be aware of programs available to them at our Arts Education Center. Last summer, ACAC presented 48 public and private camps at its Arts Education Center (AEC) in downtown Gettysburg and off-site at partner locations within Adams County. We will continue to work with area schools and community partners to make families aware of these opportunities and assess and overcome any obstacles to their involvement.
