Show Title: TEXTILE CREATIONS, FORM AND COLOR

Bio:  Judith McLean’s advocation outside of her career of ministry and mental health counseling has been textile art.  She has been creating with various forms of fabric since childhood and uses her thirty-years of quilting skills in her textile art.  Judith’s fabric creations have been displayed in magazines, quilt shows, and galleries.  Her passion is for color, thread play, and original design. Judith recently moved to Gettysburg and is now a member of the community along with her husband Mark.

Artist’s statement:  Fabric lends a third dimension to art and stimulates the tactile and sensory experiences.  I enjoy incorporating dying, stenciling, printing, embroidery, whimsey, ribbon, threadwork, and embellishment in my various projects.  Rather than carefully plan many of my fabric pieces, I often work spontaneously with feeling rather than planned design.
