ARTIST STATEMENT

I create bold celebrations of color and form, through animal imagery, landscape and abstraction. My primary media are watercolor and gouache. I love the fluidity, immediacy and challenge of working with these paints. Raised in New England, Ohio and Pennsylvania, I received a BA in Art from Penn State. I began my professional career in San Francisco, returning to the Gettysburg area in 1992. I have exhibited throughout the U.S. and have received several awards. I maintain a studio in the renovated summer kitchen outbuilding adjacent to our 1849 stone farmhouse in Cashtown, while also working as a picture framer in downtown Gettysburg.
