ARTIST STATEMENT
I specialize in Civil War Era quilts and do lectures on quilts that were used as codes for the Underground Railroad. These quilts were used as signs to slaves as they made their way North to freedom, such as where to get food, a place to stay, and information. I include human interest stories and interesting facts as I explain the meaning of each pattern.
