Myths and Legends in the Arts • Arts Around the World • Flora and Fauna Art • Magic in the Arts
Mediums to explore:
Culinary Arts, Visual Arts, Music and Motion, and more! Campers will rotate through mediums each day with finished projects by the end of the week.
Camp Tuition: $375/week (discounts available for ACAC members and multiple family members)

Refund Policy
ACAC’s refund policy is as follows: If we need to cancel a class/camp due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances, we will notify students and give students the option to take a credit or refund 100% of class tuition. In the case of inclement weather, we do our best to reschedule the class to suit student’s schedules.
If a student cancels his/her registration:
- Cancellations made seven business days or more before the class or event start date will be given a full refund minus a $10 administrative fee.
- Cancellations made less than 5 business days before the class or event are non-refundable; however, you may transfer your reservation to another person.
Meet the Summer Camp Instructors
J’Amy Graham Thomas
J’Amy is a returning ACAC Arts Camp instructor with a history of great feedback from campers and parents. J’Amy grew up in a family of “foodies” – her grandmother was the Product Publicity Director for General Foods during the Depression, and her mother was the on-camera food editor, chef and Home Economist for a live cooking show on NBC. Cooking with her family, she learned culinary skills, explored different cuisines, focusing on the importance of nutritious and fresh food. She worked for several restaurants, helped start a catering business, and trained as a chef and caterer in Washington, D.C. J’Amy is part of the Adams County Farmers Market Coalition and the Adams County Food Policy Council. Her passion is to share that cooking and eating together is what binds us, with a goal of improving health, wellness and the quality of food we eat by teaching interesting classes to students of all ages with a focus on fresh and wholesome foods in an approachable style. J’Amy earned her B.S. in Nutrition from The Ohio State University.
Carrie Conklin
Carrie is a vocal instructor, pianist and musical director at Gettysburg Community Theatre where she music directed productions like “Finding Nemo,” “The Rocky Horror Show- LIVE,” and most recently “Matilda The Musical.” She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education from Michigan State University and Lebanon Valley College. She previously taught music at Emmitsburg Elementary School and was an assistant band director and music director for musicals at Gettysburg Area High School. Carrie returns as an ACAC Arts Camp Instructor after receiving rave reviews in previous years!
Mark Wesling
Mark is a classical guitarist, composer, and songwriter who has been living and making music in south-central Pennsylvania since 1996. He teaches classical, acoustic, and electric guitar lessons throughout York, Hershey, Harrisburg, Lancaster and Gettysburg. He performs throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding areas for weddings, corporate events, festivals, and concerts and composes and publishes music for the guitar. Mark is also an active artist who works with oils and watercolors; his work has found homes in private collections throughout the United States. Mark is an instructor with the ACAC.
Joe Clark
Joe has over forty years of experience playing percussion with bands and doing outreach to local schools. He owns JC Percussion Plus, where he teaches and sells percussion instruments. Joe leads Jammin’ with Joe (a drum-circle experience) and has visited the Adams County Senior Centers and other local organizations to demonstrate and teach drumming. Joe promotes healing/wellness, community building, and creative expression through his music. Joe is a graduate of York College where he received a degree in percussion performance.
Jenna Ploski, MT-BC, NMT and Hannah Eckman, MT-BC, NMT
Jenna is a Gettysburg-based, board-certified music therapist with a Bachelor’s in Music Therapy/Therapist from the State University of New York at Fredonia. She’s set to receive her Master’s in Music Therapy in 2027 from Slippery Rock University. Jenna worked at A Place to Be in Middleburg, Virginia for over two years as a music therapist. Now at Tonality Music Therapy, Jenna is committed to neurodiversity-affirming, community-based care. As a music therapist, she helps her clients understand themselves better and advocate for themselves through the power of music and songwriting. Jenna has experience working with kids and music, but this will be her first time instructing at the ACAC Arts Camp!
Hannah is a passionate and versatile music therapist who enjoys working with a wide variety of individuals, emphasizing the use of the expressive arts and bringing music, poetry, play, and performance into her workshops. Hannah received her Bachelors degree in music therapy from Temple University and is currently pursuing her Masters in Music Therapy and Counseling. She worked in Virginia for several years before moving back Pennsylvania to work at Tonality.
Kim Robinson
Kim taught art at Bermudian Springs High School for thirty-three years, where she helped create the Bermudian Springs school spirit mosaic that stretches 215 feet! Her work as an arts educator was recognized by the Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards and the Pennsylvania Art Education Association. Kim is an instructor at the Adams County Arts Council, and has taught very well-received summer camps here in previous years. In 2023 Kim received the Applause Award from the ACAC, celebrating her exceptional dedication to arts and culture in Adams County. Kim received her master’s in art education from Millersville University of Pennsylvania.
Kristi Barnes
Kristi has taught vinyasa yoga and led the prenatal and children’s yoga programs and trainings at the Holy Cow Yoga Center in Charleston, SC. She also teaches Nia, a movement modality combining dance, martial arts and healing arts. Expression through movement has always been essential to Kristi, making her feel alive and connected to her community and the world. Her goal in teaching is to ignite in others the joy, empowerment, spaciousness, and peace with which these practices enrich her life. She incorporates a sense of exploration and lightheartedness into her classes, which combine fluid movement with restful self-care. Kristi is also a Reiki II Practitioner and Jungian Life Coach.
Spencer Dofflemyer
Ceramicist Spencer Dofflemyer is an independent artist from Pennsylvania who has worked in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and Virginia. He’s a graduate of Temple University – Tyler School of Arts, and has a robust portfolio in ceramics, visual design, and gallery work, with many solo and group show exhibitions to his credit. He strives to facilitate community engagement. Spencer runs the ACAC Pottery Studio and teaches students of all ages!
Levato “Cookie” Shaw
Cookie is a retired elementary and middle school teacher and former owner of Earthworm Pottery studio. Cookie is an Adams County Arts Council instructor and leads paint nights for various organizations. In addition, Cookie has exhibited her pottery and won numerous awards, has had watercolor works published in the White Rose Journal, and donates her watercolors and acrylics to the Land Conservancy of Adams County. Her colored pencil and fabric art hang in the Gettysburg Church of the Brethren. Cookie received her bachelor’s degree from Rowan University in Art Education and her master’s degree from McDaniels College.
