Susan relocated to Gettysburg in August 2016. Through a newspaper article, she learned about the classes offered at the Adams County Arts Council. By the Fall months, she had become a member of the Arts Council, taken a pottery class and began volunteering whenever needed.
Gardening is a hobby of Susan’s and led to the creation and care of the container gardens that welcome everyone to the Arts Education Center. Seasonal centerpieces, floral arrangements and Christmas decorations are also a way for her to volunteer and share her interests.
About four years ago, Susan’s volunteerism evolved into a part time receptionist/helper in the front office. She also teaches Sterling silver jewelry classes once a month and has been an instructor for three years for Jewelry Summer Camps.
“Joining the Adams County Arts Council is one of the best experiences I have had since coming to Gettysburg. What a wonderful way to meet people and more importantly, make good friends. I feel privileged to be a part of such a vital cultural institution of Adams County.”
