Artist statement

I have always been drawn to art in its many forms. When I was younger I took some basic painting and art appreciation courses. Throughout my life I’ve visited art museums and researched various artists and their styles. If I’m not putting paint on a canvas or pastel on paper, I’m usually reading books or watching videos to learn all I can about painting. I have taken several classes at the Adams County Arts Council as well. Learning from the instructors and talking with fellow students have been invaluable resources to me.

I use acrylics and pastels to paint simple subjects, as well as landscapes and animals. I especially enjoy painting points of interest around Gettysburg, including barns, orchards, creeks and fields.
