Knife Skills Boot Camp   Wednesday, November 20, 6-9 p.m.

Mastering professional knife skills can cut your food preparation time in half!  In this hands-on class you’ll learn how to choose the right knife for every task, how to keep your knives sharp, and how to use the correct knife grip and guiding hand to cut vegetables quickly and safely.  Chef Lou will explain and demonstrate, then you’ll practice the most important knife cuts.  You’ll learn to slice, dice, chop, mince, batonnet, julienne and perform other essential techniques, including the professional way to cut an onion.  When class concludes, you’ll take home your products armed with recipes to turn them into delicious dishes.  Participants should bring a chef knife, paring knife, cutting board, apron, and a foodservice-grade, cut-resistant safety glove.
