Learn Basic Defense Moves 101, Wednesdays, January 8-29, 6-7:30 p.m., for teens through adults
There are many varied benefits to learning self-defense, and this workshop will give you the opportunity to learn martial arts for physical fitness and give you the tools to be used if a situation should come up . Students will learn basic blocks and strikes and kicks, counter attacks, and self-defense moves. There will be stretching, cardio, as well as practicing form. Peter Golden, $64 ($70)
Peter Golden has been teaching for 40 years and received his first black belt in 1984 from the world Tae Kwon Do Association and is currently a 7th degree master. His teaching background includes the YWCA, Fort Ritchie, Mont Alto and Gettysburg College. He found it was something he could do well and his instructor saw his potential and encouraged him to teach and share what he loves.
